Your artwork stays yours — we only ever use it to make and ship your
order. In return, we ask that you only upload things you have the right
to print. If something looks like it infringes someone else's rights,
we'll pause and check with you before printing.
The short of it
We print custom work based on what you upload, which means intellectual property matters to both of us. This page explains your rights in your own uploads, the permission you give us, what we won't print, and how to tell us if you think something on the site infringes your rights.
Your artwork, your rights
You keep all the rights to everything you upload. Uploading something to print doesn't transfer any ownership to us. We only get a narrow permission to use your upload for the single purpose of making and shipping your order — and that permission ends when the file is deleted from our systems.
Customers retain all intellectual property rights in content they upload ("User Content"). By uploading User Content, you grant impry.me a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, store, and transmit the User Content solely for the purpose of fulfilling your order and providing the service. This licence is limited to that purpose and terminates upon deletion of the User Content from our systems. No ownership of User Content transfers to impry.me at any point.
What you're promising when you upload
By uploading something, you're confirming that you own it or have permission to use it, that it doesn't infringe anyone else's intellectual property (no brand logos, film or game characters, or copyrighted artwork unless you hold the rights), and that it isn't unlawful, defamatory, hateful, or obscene. If a third party makes a claim because you broke that promise, you agree to cover us for it.
You warrant that: you own all necessary rights in the User Content, or have obtained all necessary permissions from the rights holder; the User Content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights, rights of privacy, or rights of publicity; and the User Content does not contain unlawful, defamatory, hateful, or obscene material. You agree to indemnify impry.me against any third-party claims, losses, or costs arising from a breach of these warranties.
Our right to refuse
Every upload goes through a manual review before production. If a review identifies potentially infringing content, we'll pause your order and apply one of three resolutions at our discretion: cancel and refund the order; ask you to replace the image so we can continue; or credit your account with Impry Coins equal to the product value. One outcome or another is guaranteed — you never lose out.
All User Content is subject to manual review prior to production. Orders identified as containing potentially infringing content will be placed on hold. impry.me will apply one of the following at its discretion: (a) cancel the order and issue a full refund to the original payment method within 5 working days; (b) contact the customer to provide replacement content for which the necessary rights are held, and continue production on receipt; or (c) credit the customer's account with Impry Coins equal to the product value of the affected items. By placing an order containing User Content that may include third-party intellectual property, the customer accepts the risk of one of these outcomes being applied. impry.me reserves the right to decline any order where we reasonably believe the User Content infringes third-party rights or breaches these terms.
Our own intellectual property
The impry.me website, its design, branding, text, and software are the intellectual property of impry.me or its licensors and are protected by UK and international law. Nothing in these terms grants you any right to use the impry.me name, logo, or site content except as necessary to use the service for its intended purpose.
If you think we've infringed your rights
There's no UK equivalent of the US DMCA, but we take infringement seriously. If you believe content on our site or produced through our service infringes your intellectual property, email us with the details and we'll investigate and act promptly.
The United Kingdom has no direct statutory equivalent to the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act notice-and-takedown regime; however, we operate a good-faith takedown process. If you are a rights holder and believe that content hosted on impry.me, or produced through the service, infringes your intellectual property rights, please contact contact@impry.me with: (i) identification of the work you say is infringed; (ii) identification of the allegedly infringing material sufficient for us to locate it; (iii) your contact details; and (iv) a statement that you hold the relevant rights or are authorised to act for the rights holder. We will investigate and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the material and take action against repeat infringers, including account suspension.
