magnets FAQ

magnets use a premium flexible ferrite magnetic sheet rated to hold themselves firmly flat against any ferrous metal surface. They will not slide or curl under their own weight in normal conditions. They are display and branding magnets — designed to look great on a fridge, filing cabinet, or car door — rather than load-bearing magnets for holding objects. If you need to pin documents to a board, a traditional office magnet is a better tool.

magnets adhere to any ferrous (iron or steel-based) surface. This includes steel refrigerators, steel filing cabinets, steel shelving, steel doors, and most steel vehicle body panels. They will not stick to aluminium, glass, wood, plastic, stone, or stainless steel appliances (stainless steel is generally non-magnetic). If you are unsure whether your target surface is ferrous, test it with any small household magnet first.

magnets are approximately 0.85 mm thick — thin and flexible enough to conform to gently curved surfaces such as vehicle doors and the sides of round refrigerators. They lie flat and flush against smooth surfaces without any visible gap. The flexibility also makes them easy to post through a letterbox, which is useful for direct mail campaigns.

Flexible ferrite magnets produce a much weaker magnetic field than rare-earth (neodymium) magnets, and are safe to use near most consumer electronics — smartphones, tablets, laptops, and monitors are all fine. As a general precaution, we recommend keeping all magnets away from implanted medical devices such as pacemakers and cochlear implants, and from older mechanical hard drives and analogue magnetic media (cassette tapes, floppy discs). Modern solid-state storage is not affected.

magnets are die-cut to the exact outline of your uploaded artwork. The cut follows your design — any shape that can be cut from a flat sheet is possible, including irregular shapes, logos, and character outlines. Very fine points smaller than 3 mm may be slightly rounded to keep the magnet in one piece.

magnets are printed with UV-resistant inks and finished with a protective gloss or matte laminate, making them weather-resistant and suitable for outdoor use on vehicles and external surfaces. They perform well in rain and variable temperatures. We do not recommend leaving them in standing water or in environments where they will be regularly submerged. For vehicle use, remove and store magnets before going through an automatic car wash with strong water jets.
